"When you take something as big as addiction, like this is your inner monolog telling you to self destruct... put this in your body and have it flow through your veins. This is going to affect every tissue, going to pollute every thought. This is going to be your good time, this is going to be your bad time. This is gonna be your reaction. This is how you're going to celebrate, this is how you're going to self medicate. It becomes very difficult, when your reaction to every event that's going on, is to use. To take that away from somebody and to hope that they have the emotional intelligence and the coping skills to deal with the aftermath of being in that position is a lot to ask of someone."
